Video Producer / Editor

Pay: $35/hour - Expected hours: 24+ per week

Vanguard Creative is looking for a junior video shooter and editor to support our growing video production and social media content work.

This is a part-time and/or freelance role to start, with the potential to grow over time for the right person.

We’re looking for someone who can help film and edit polished, professional content for our clients. You should be comfortable working on real client projects, managing footage properly, setting up basic lighting/audio, and editing in a clean, organized way.

Indoor filming or photography setup with lighting equipment, cameras, and monitors in a living room with a TV, shelves, and chairs.

A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, fluent English communication, and the ability to work from our Winnipeg office are mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Film professional video content for client projects

  • Edit videos in DaVinci Resolve

  • Set up and use lighting for interviews, social content, and commercial-style shoots

  • Set up basic audio for interviews and dialogue

  • Organize, back up, and manage media properly

  • Colour correct footage at a basic professional level

  • Deliver final assets to clients when required

  • Communicate professionally with clients and team members

  • Work independently on assigned tasks without needing constant direction

  • Show up on time and be reliable

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of video lighting

  • Portfolio of work that demonstrates strong shooting and editing ability

  • Experience using Sony camera systems

  • Experience setting up lighting and audio

  • Basic understanding of colour correction

  • Experience editing in DaVinci Resolve

  • Strong media organization skills

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Reliable vehicle/transportation

  • Ability to work in the office in Winnipeg

  • Fluent English communication skills

  • Strong punctuality and professionalism

  • Comfortable working with clients

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in growing with a small, creative company

  • Understanding of social media best practices

  • Experience filming and editing short-form vertical content
